Start paying attention to the scents in your home to help sniff out pollution. Different rooms may have different smells depending on the pollutant, including chemical gasses, fine particulates, humidity or other air quality issues. Our nose plays an important role in protecting our lungs, heart and head from pollution. So much so that some have called air quality monitors “electronic noses”. Be careful at what you become good at however, as some sensitive sniffers in China have been recruited to hunt down pockets of pollution. Our advice: if you smell pollution, avoid it!
